Need for Water Testing
Eastham's transition from a seasonal vacation area to a year-round vibrant town has created unique challenges related to water and water quality. High housing density, older septic systems, water runoff from busy roads, and fertilizer runoff can cause contamination to well water. The Town of Eastham voted to install municipal water in part to address this issue. Until municipal water is available in your home, it may be a good idea to test your water. The town requires testing of rental properties and for real estate transactions.
Water Testing Options
There are currently two options for testing your water.
Water test kits for both labs are available for pick up at the front entryway of Town Hall.
The sample bottles for the two different laboratories are NOT interchangeable. Samples returned in the incorrect bottles will NOT be processed.
